Infra Design Studio Pvt. Ltd. has been appointed as the Nodal Consultant by Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) for supervision and monitoring the progress of all the projects under the jurisdiction of TMC. The various authorities responsible for the projects are Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), Public Works Department of state and other departments of central government.

Broadly, this includes all activities with respect to site inspections (regular as well as on need basis), review of reports and working papers submitted by consultants, clearances, miscellaneous tasks of project planning and project construction period, co-ordination support and assistance at the nodal level for coordinating the project proposals at design stage, monitoring the progress of the DPR, EPC Contractors and Project Management Consultants responsible for the various projects. The roles and responsibilities of the Nodal Consultant can be further summarized as follows.

1. Advising TMC in allocation of various prioritized infrastructure works to various agencies viz. TMC, MMRDA, MSRDC, CIDCO etc.
2. Interaction with the DPR/Project Management Consultants for the various proposed projects in the Thane Municipal Area and conduction of regular review meetings to assist Authority in finalizing the project proposals.
3. Reviewing the overall integrity of the projects with other projects and to assist the Authority for integration of projects for optimal functionality.
4. Reviewing of all the stage wise reports of the Feasibility Study/ DPR Study/ Project Management Consultants for the various proposed projects and suggestion for modifications (if any).
5. Consolidation of project progress reports and preparation of consolidated dashboard depicting progress status and flagging problem areas to the management for timely intervention.
6. Collection of project progress reports from PMCs/ Contractors in a timely and systematic manner. Maintaining clear records of all monthly and other regular progress reports.

The role of the Nodal Consultant is thus very crucial in the overall infrastructure development of Thane city in a timely and holistic manner.
